A pack of 15 lions attacked before butchering a 900kg wild buffalo in Kenya.
Photographer Murray Jacklin shares images of the hunt in the Maasai Mara reserve. The lions were resting in the shade when they spotted potential prey a few meters away.
First, two male lions came to scout the situation. Then, they suddenly increase their speed and rush towards their prey, followed by the lionesses. The buffalo immediately flees when it detects the danger, but the speed is slower than the opponent, making it quickly surrounded. . 15 lions use their claws and sharp teeth to attack the lone buffalo.
