Animals That Saved Human Lives

Animals are our best friends. This is true because they are a great company, and they give us lots of positive emotions, and they are loyal to their owners. Some animals are unbelievably brave and risk their own lives to rescue people.

Even certain wild animals may surprise you with their behavior when they feel humans are in danger. Today, we countdown 15 Animals that saved human lives. Get that box of tissue paper, sit tight, and watch as we share stories of animals whose courage is astonishing.

15 – The Lion Queen

A 12-year-old girl who was abducted and beaten by men trying to force her into a marriage was found being guarded by three lions who apparently had chased off her captors. The girl, missing for a week, had been taken by seven men who wanted to force her to marry one of them. She was beaten repeatedly before they found her. The lions had guarded her for about half a day. They stood guard until authorities found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest.

If the lions had not come to her rescue, then it could have been much worse. Often these adolescent girls are raped and severely beaten to force them to accept the marriage. Everyone thinks this is some kind of miracle because normally the lions would attack people. Wildlife experts say the girl may have survived because she was crying from the trauma of her attack.

A young girl whimpering could be mistaken for the mewing sound from a lion cub, which could explain why they didn’t tear her to shreds. The girl, the youngest of four siblings, was “shocked and terrified” after her abduction and had to be treated for the cuts from her beatings.

The police caught four of the abductors and three were still at large. Kidnapping adolescent girls has long been part of the marriage custom in Ethiopia. The United Nations estimates that over 70 percent of marriages in Ethiopia are by abduction, practiced in rural areas where most of the country’s 71 million people live. The Lion King saved the day once again.

14 – Dog saves New Born

Number 14 on our list is a dog that saves a newborn. In November 2015, social media around the globe were awash in photographs of a dog carrying a newborn child with his umbilical cord still attached in its mouth, with accompanying text proclaiming that the canine had found the child abandoned on the street and had carried it to safety.

The dog took the baby in her mouth while avoiding hurting him and put him in front of a house. Thanks to this dog, this baby today is alive and in perfect health. Those who posted the pictures said the dog carried the baby to the nearest house, whose dwellers rushed to take the baby to save her.

Her mother apparently dumped the baby near a waste bin. At this point, we don’t yet know whether these photographs are authentic. It’s quite the paradox that sometimes animals behave like they expect humans to behave. I think we should not allow certain human beings to have children.

13 – Mila The beluga

Number 13 on our list is Mila the beluga. At the diving contest, held on July 28 in Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost region, they required applicants to dive into a 20-ft.-deep tank with no breathing equipment while the resident beluga whales swam among them.

The winner would be the diver who could dive the deepest and stay underwater the longest. Mila, a beluga whale saved diver, Yang Yun, during a competition to see who could hold their breath the longest.

Yang Yun was doing well, but when she tried to move her legs to swim to the surface, she could not do so. Mila came to the rescue and took Yun’s leg in her mouth and brought her to the surface. They say animals have a sixth sense and that’s how they know if something is wrong. If it hadn’t been for the brave whale, the young diver would’ve probably drowned.

She was choking with water and plummeting to the bottom, and a sudden force pushed her out of the water. Though she didn’t win, Yang quickly recovered and thanked the whale and the audience by hopping right back into the water. Talk about a whale of a tale!

12- Baby elephant rescue

Number 12 on our list is a baby elephant. You always wonder who your actual friends are and usually, when you find yourself in trouble, few friends stick around to help you. It was not so with this adorable baby elephant who misinterpreted her owner’s shout as a cry for help when he was just trying to attract the animal’s attention.

Little KHAM LA didn’t think twice, embracing Darrick Thomson with her trunk and pushing him to the shore. The rescued man got something more than just safety — he witnessed the demonstration of genuine friendship. We can all agree it’s basically a dream situation to be rescued by a baby elephant, especially if you didn’t really need rescuing in the first place. Instead, you just end up being assured that a baby elephant loves you and wants you to be okay. Where do I get myself a pet elephant like that?
