Running too fast when being chased by the lion made the gazelle Gazelle couldn’t look closely and slipped. This makes it easy for predators to grab and kill.
In the wild, the Gazelle is one of the fastest animals on land. Accordingly, scientists have recorded many cases where individuals of this species can reach running speeds of up to 97km/h.
This helps them to avoid being chased by large predators such as lions or leopards. However, sometimes Gazelles also get into trouble because of this superior race.
Typically, in the video above, the gazelle Gazelle, while running from the lion at high speed, was unable to avoid slipping when it plunged straight into a shallow puddle. After that, it is easily caught by predators and killed.
It is known that this scene was accidentally recorded by tourists at Masai Mara Wildlife Sanctuary, Kenya.
