The hyenas that recklessly attacked the lion had to receive an extremely bitter ending.
During a tour of the Maasai Mara Wildlife Sanctuary in Kenya, guide Pareet Shah captured an extremely dramatic moment in the wildlife world. It was the scene of the hyenas pulling their troops to chase the lions, but in the end they were killed by their opponents.
Earlier, the lioness was enjoying her meal when 25 hyenas surrounded and attacked. With an overwhelming number, the hyenas easily threatened to make the “lord of the grasslands” flee.
However, other lions were quickly present to rescue their fellows. Thanks to their superior strength, the big cats easily suppressed the hyenas and even killed one to show their prestige.
“Lions don’t eat hyenas. They just kill, torment the hyena carcass for a few minutes, and then calmly walk away. In the wild, carnivores usually only kill rivals to compete for food, but they often eat each other.” – shared by Pareet Shah.
